Kate Denend (they/she) is a queer, California-born, New York-based experimental video artist who explores themes of liminality, grief, and fractured selves. By using video to interrogate their own identity and representation, they hope to better understand how the digital age shapes our sense of self, particularly in relation to time and space. They draw inspiration primarily from film, video, and photography, however, anything spectral, campy, or absurd has their heart. In terms of formal education, they graduated from Pomona College with a B.A. in Media Studies and Biology. Their passion for learning continues to leave them wanting to listen to other artists, collaborate across media, and grow as an individual.
